Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Full-Time Demi Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will work alongside our talented culinary team to prepare and present high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation. • Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and culinary standards under the guidance of the head chef
• Maintain impeccable kitchen hygiene and food safety protocols at all times
• Organise and manage mise en place to ensure efficient kitchen operations
• Assist with food presentation and plating to meet organisational standards
• Collaborate effectively with kitchen team members to support service delivery
• Manage inventory awareness and contribute to stock control procedures
• Maintain and care for kitchen equipment and workspace cleanliness
• Support menu development initiatives and contribute creative culinary ideas
• Adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently during peak service periods
• Comply with all health, safety, and food handling regulations

Qualifications

• Proven culinary training or equivalent practical kitchen experience
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Proficiency in knife skills and fundamental cooking techniques
• Solid understanding of kitchen operations and workflow
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities
• Strong people skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays, and evening shifts
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality food preparation
• Desirable: Food handling certification or equivalent qualification
• Desirable: Experience in A la carte dining, hotel operations, banquets, fine dining or specialised cuisine
• Desirable: Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen awareness
