JOB SUMMARY
The Warehouse Manager is a management position strategically placed to control the execution of all inbound and outbound shipments of Pero Family Farms Food Company, LLC’s raw product and finished goods. This position will require overseeing the daily functions of the shipping department including but not limited to overseeing office personnel, forklift drivers, stackers, and the proper staging of customer deliveries for shipment. The shipping manager should implement all company standard operating procedures and any company processes put into place, and ensure that the company’s SOP’s are followed by all personnel within the warehouse. This position will be required to meet budgetary guidelines established for the warehouse, and ensure all company costs are controlled, and budgeted goals are accomplished.
Requirements
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for maintaining budgetary guidelines for the Shipping Department and warehouse personnel
Will be required to hold regular scheduled meetings with all departments to evaluate performance levels and discuss ideas and needs
Will establish a level of acceptable performance for personnel and mentors to exceed daily expectations
Works closely with Commodity Management, PTC Logistics, and Client Services to coordinate inbound and outbound orders
Will be responsible for the scheduling and training of all personnel involved in the daily movement of products both inbound and outbound
Will be responsible for the coordination of loads, fulfillment rates, inventory and receiving.
Will work closely with the Quality Control department to ensure all procedures are followed and recorded
Will work closely with the Food Safety Manager to ensure compliance with internal procedures and external third party audits are performed on a regular basis.
Will be responsible for cross training of personnel
Review Ship List and Receiving List for daily outbound and inbound shipments
Review Ship List for Inventory Shortages
Prepare Orders for staging and or shipping using famous
Communicates with Commodity Management and Client Service Managers on any specific details about orders
Communicates with necessary departments on inventory in WMS and its correct allocation. While also remaining aware of the WMS systems and aiding in its management
Communicate with Fresh Food Production Supervisor throughout the day with respect to inbound deliveries and outbound shipments
Correct inventory related issues in Famous and maintain accurate inventory through the Famous WMS system
Oversees daily suites of the forklift operators and dock workers
Responsible for accurate BOL’s, receiving tickets and driver check in/out sheets
Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility and the surrounding grounds
Must follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), Occupational Safety Procedures and all Food Safety guidelines related to the position or being on the Warehouse floor
Follow compliance with GMP, USDA, and DOL standards
Investigate and follow up on OS&Ds.
Collaboration with HR for training development and implementation.
Guide and provide clear vision of the warehouse objectives to all staff for successful transactions.
Ensure Sales Orders are 100% fulfilled
Executes a staff schedule that is efficient and applies business coverage in order to accommodate outbound, inbound, and inventory management.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed primarily in a warehouse, distribution center, and office environment
Frequent interaction with warehouse staff, supervisors, operations, shipping/receiving personnel, and external vendors
Standard business hours with the expectation of extended hours, early mornings, evenings, weekends, or on-call availability to meet operational needs
Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment requiring oversight of inventory, shipments, and daily warehouse operations
Exposure to temperature variations, dust, noise, and other typical warehouse conditions
Work involves supervision of equipment operations such as forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, and other material-handling equipment
Participation in meetings, audits, safety inspections, and coordination with transportation teams
Compliance with warehouse safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies
Occasional travel may be required to other company facilities, distribution centers, or supplier locations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Bend, twist, stoop, and lift on a continuous and repetitive basis
Lift up to 70 Pounds overhead on a regular basis without mechanical assistance
Push/Pull up to 70 pounds frequently without mechanical assistance
Bend to a 90-degree angle in order to perform warehouse maintenance
Stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods of time
Withstand instant temperature changes and various surroundings: 45-degrees or below
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years experience in compliance and/or safety certification training
Participate in various workshops and educational programs to maintain knowledge of all industry regulations and rules
Knowledge of all DOT state, and federal requirements, policies, and procedures
Ability to learn and understand transportation software systems and technologies
Computer skills –
Basics: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office
Industry Specific: Famous
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage personnel
Excellent Oral and Written Communication
Analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
Knowledge of Spanish Language is preferred but not necessary
