Job Description

As Assistant Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the financial performance of the resort through effective reporting, analysis, compliance and financial management.

Working closely with the Financial Controller and department leaders, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting daily Finance operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, purchasing, and reporting.
  • Assisting with budgets, forecasts and financial analysis.
  • Partnering with leaders to improve profitability and manage costs
  • Preparing accurate reports and providing commercial insights.
  • Supporting cash flow, credit approvals and debt recovery.
  • Ensuring compliance with Accor policies and internal controls.
  • Improving financial processes and systems to drive efficiency.
  • Supporting the development and performance of the Finance team.

This role offers the opportunity to combine technical finance expertise with commercial thinking and strong stakeholder relationships while contributing to the continued success of a leading Sunshine Coast resort.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar senior finance role.
  • Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen and cost management experience.
  • Knowledge of PAYG, GST, Payroll Tax, Workers Compensation, BAS, Accounts Payable and Superannuation.
  • Experience with accounting systems; Opera Cloud, Zambion Ready Workforce, Purchase Plus, Micros Symphony, and Sun Cloud advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
