Job Description

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of Mediterranean and international dishes according to recipes and standards.
• Prepare mise en place, ingredients, sauces, marinades, salads, and other food items as assigned.
• Support the Chef de Partie and other kitchen team members during daily operations and service.
• Ensure all food is prepared with consistent quality, taste, presentation, and portion control.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and sanitation in the assigned work area.
• Follow HACCP, food safety, and hygiene procedures at all times.
• Properly store and label food items, ensuring correct temperature control and FIFO practices.
• Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
• Assist with receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
• Support buffet, à la carte, and special event preparations as required.
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and other departments.
• Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and grooming standards.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or restaurant kitchen is preferred.
• Culinary certificate or relevant culinary training is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of Mediterranean and international cuisine.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Physically fit and able to work for extended periods in a kitchen environment.
