Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Commis I (Asian) to join our culinary team in Ahmedabad, India. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will specialize in Asian cuisine, contributing to the creation of authentic and delicious dishes that delight our customers.

• Prepare and cook a variety of Asian dishes, including appetizers, main courses, and desserts
• Assist in the preparation of marinades, sauces, and spice blends for Asian specialties
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation
• Maintain and operate various Asian kitchen equipment and utensils
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards in all aspects of food handling and preparation
• Assist in inventory management and stock rotation for Asian cuisine ingredients
• Contribute to menu development and suggest new Asian dishes
• Maintain a clean and organized work station
• Support other kitchen areas as needed during peak hours
• Follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in dish preparation
• Continuously improve culinary skills and knowledge of Asian cuisine

Qualifications

• Proven experience (2-3 years) in a professional kitchen, with a focus on Asian cuisine
• Strong knowledge of Asian cuisine, spices, and flavor profiles
• Proficiency in various Asian cooking techniques
• Excellent knife skills and food preparation abilities
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, with current food safety certification
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Team player with excellent communication abilities
• Culinary diploma or equivalent culinary education preferred
• Familiarity with local ingredients and flavors of Ahmedabad, India
• Knowledge of Asian kitchen equipment and utensils
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency in dish preparation
• Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and adjusting recipes
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a hot kitchen environment
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
