D365 Finance Process Owner (8 month contract)

Job Description

The D365 Finance Process Owner/Superuser plays a pivotal role in supporting the successful implementation of new systems (D365) and processes across their site and regional wave. Acting as a key liaison between project teams and colleagues, the Finance Superuser champions change, provides hands-on support during deployment, and ensures smooth adoption of new ways of working.

Day-to-day responsibilities include engaging in business readiness activities, system testing, delivering training, offering post-implementation support, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong functional knowledge, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

The DRIVE  Finance Superuser is responsible for supporting the delivery of D365 into the entity through all phases of the DRIVE implementation; Business Readiness, Solution Deployment, Early Life Support and ongoing post-implementation support.

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:

Change Leadership & Support

• Act as a change champion, guiding colleagues through transitions and embedding new systems and ways of working.
• Break down resistance to change and foster a culture of continuous learning and curiosity.
• Deliver training and support to ensure smooth adoption of new processes.

Advocacy & Surge Support

• Represent the needs of teams, customers, and end-users, ensuring their voices are heard throughout the change process.
• Highlight productivity impacts and uphold operational standards.
• Provide additional support during peak periods or critical project phases.

Technical Expertise & System Proficiency

• Engage early in system design and testing to build deep technical knowledge.
• Become a subject matter expert in the tools and systems being implemented.
• Support colleagues by sharing expertise and contributing throughout the project lifecycle.

Effective Communication & Stakeholder Management 

• Provide timely and transparent updates to all stakeholders.
• Ensure leadership remains informed of on-the-ground realities and progress.
• Communicate clearly and confidently across all levels of the organisation.

Project Management Support 

• Assist in planning and coordinating deployments, ensuring alignment with project goals and principles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes.

Post-Implementation Support 

• Remain engaged after go-live to monitor adoption and provide ongoing support. 
• Deliver ad-hoc training and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Communication

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Commitment & Flexibility 

• Willingness to be on-site full-time during critical phases and to travel outside standard hours when required.

Functional Expertise

• Strong understanding of financial operations, with proven performance and support from line management.

Process Improvement Mindset 

• Proactive in identifying and implementing more efficient and effective ways of working.

Organisational Skills

•  Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and remain calm under pressure.
