Job Description

Commis Chef – Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes across all service periods, including functions and events
• Set up and run a designated section during service
• Ensure all mise en place is prepared and service ready
• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control
• Monitor stock levels and ensure proper storage and rotation
• Work closely with senior chefs to deliver a smooth, high-quality service

Qualifications

Commis Chef – Skills & Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery (or currently undertaking)
• Previous experience in a hotel or commercial kitchen environment
• Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work independently within a section during service 
• Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop culinary skills
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
