We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to join our Engineering team. Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, this is a key leadership role responsible for supervising a small team of two Maintenance Technicians while actively participating in the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the hotel.

This role is ideal for a proactive and practical maintenance professional who enjoys leading by example, takes pride in delivering high standards, and is committed to providing exceptional guest experiences.

Job Description

As Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the hotel's facilities, plant and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality and guest comfort.

This is a working supervisor position, requiring a hands-on approach to maintenance operations while providing leadership, guidance and support to the Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance throughout the hotel to ensure guest comfort and operational efficiency
• Supervise and support a team of two Handypersons, fostering a positive team culture.
• Prioritise and coordinate daily maintenance activities in consultation with the Director of Engineering.
• Diagnose, maintain and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and equipment.
• Monitor contractor activities and ensure all works meet Accor standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Monitor utility consumption, record meter readings and identify opportunities for energy conservation and efficiency improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, compliance checks and statutory requirements.
• Work closely with Front Office and Housekeeping teams to minimise room downtime and expedite room returns to inventory.
• Assist with departmental rostering, safety inspections, reporting and training requirements.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years' experience supervising maintenance operations, preferably within a hotel, hospitality or facilities environment.
• Trade qualification in Electrical, Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering would be an advantage
• Strong technical knowledge of building services, plant and equipment maintenance.
• Proven ability to lead a small team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all departments.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
• Guest-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service standards.
• High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite; HUB OS; Opera Cloud
• Flexible availability, including occasional weekends and after-hours emergency support when required.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
