Payroll Specialist

Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

As Payroll Specialist, you will play an important role in securing accurate and compliant payroll delivery for our colleagues in Sweden. You will work across payroll, accounting, process optimisation and reporting, ensuring that processes are handled with quality, care and in line with Swedish legislation, collective agreements and H&M Group standards. 
 
Key responsibilities: 

• Manage end-to-end payroll processes, master data and employee files with accuracy and care. 
• Ensure payroll activities follow Swedish legislation, collective agreements and internal routines. 
• Complete month-end activities including bank file submissions, accounting files and AGI processing. 
• Handle payroll calculations, corrections, reporting, incidents and escalations. 
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, compliance and colleague experience. 

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH 

You will be part of People Services and work closely with HR teams, Rewards, Finance and subject matter experts to resolve complex cases, support smooth payroll operations and strengthen the colleague experience. 

WHO YOU ARE 

We are looking for people with… 

• Practical experience and relevant education within payroll, HR or a similar field. 
• Good understanding of Swedish payroll, local collective agreements and relevant legislation. 
• Strong communication skills in Swedish and English, both written and verbal. 
• Experience from pensions, benefits, external authority reporting and payroll-related administration.

• Analytical, structured and detail-oriented. 
• Service-minded, solution-oriented and comfortable handling complex cases with empathy. 
• Able to work independently, prioritise effectively and take initiative. 
• Curious about improving ways of working and using tools or automation to create better quality and efficiency. 

It is meriting if you have experience from international assignees, net-to-gross calculations, SAP SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, HRM payroll systems, Office 365, large matrix organisations or process improvement through automation and AI tools.
