WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, first shift with some weekends included.
JOB SUMMARY: Located in Harford County, Maryland, our Joppa Inpatient program offers treatment pathways for both men and women dealing with substance use disorders, including methamphetamine and other stimulant use, co-occurring disorders, and a methadone maintenance program. The Peer Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting individuals in developing and solidifying long-term recovery supports, providing services before, during, and after their engagement in the treatment continuum. Under a passionate leadership team, Pyramid Healthcare in Harford provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare in supportive environments that empower clients to overcome life’s challenges and reclaim their health and well-being.
PAY RATE: $17/hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide peer support services using lived experience to enhance client recovery and engagement.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team members and community partners to support client care and recovery planning.
- Assist clients in establishing connections with community resources and ongoing support systems.
- Maintain regular contact with referral sources as directed.
- Prepare and complete concurrent reviews and communications with referral sources, as assigned and applicable.
- Document all client and collateral contacts in the medical record timely and accurately.
- Participate in peer record review processes and quality assurance activities.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with staff across all disciplines.
- Keep supervisors informed of client progress, concerns, and service needs.
- Provide transportation for clients to access community-based resources and services as needed.
- Participate in emergency service coverage as assigned, including after-hours support, crisis planning, hospital diversion, and commitment procedures.
- Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality regarding all company information.
- Complete all required training as designated by the company and licensing/accreditation entities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
LICENSURE, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED required.
