Job Description

Department: Engineering
Reports To: Chief Engineer / Engineering Supervisor
Location: Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay Aqaba

Job Purpose

To maintain, repair, and ensure the proper operation of all plumbing, water supply, drainage, and sanitary systems throughout the hotel, ensuring a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for Heartists and guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of all plumbing systems and equipment.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain water supply, drainage, sewage, and sanitary systems.
• Attend to plumbing maintenance requests and breakdowns promptly.
• Repair and replace pipes, valves, faucets, toilets, showers, pumps, and related plumbing fixtures.
• Check and repair water leaks and take immediate action to prevent water damage and wastage.
• Maintain hot and cold water systems and ensure proper water pressure and flow.
• Assist with maintenance of water tanks, pumps, and related equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of plumbing installations in guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, staff areas, and back-of-house facilities.
• Support the Engineering team during renovation, installation, and construction works when required.
• Ensure all plumbing work is carried out safely and according to hotel procedures and applicable standards.
• Maintain proper records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replaced materials.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, safe, and organized.
• Report any major defects, safety hazards, or equipment issues to the Engineering Supervisor/Chief Engineer.
• Follow hotel policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
• Support energy and water conservation initiatives and minimize unnecessary water consumption.
• Respond professionally and promptly to requests from other hotel departments.

Health & Safety

• Follow all hotel Health & Safety and Engineering procedures.
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Ensure work is performed safely and without creating hazards for guests or Heartists.
• Immediately report unsafe conditions, leaks, or potential risks to the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience as a Plumber, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Technical/vocational qualification in plumbing or a related field is preferred.
• Good knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, materials, and maintenance techniques.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot plumbing problems.
• Basic understanding of electrical/mechanical systems is an advantage.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
