Location: Madrid/Barcelona, Spain (Hybrid / Flexible)

Why this role

Spanish pharmaceutical marketing still runs largely on people power: more representatives, more visits, more headcount pushed at the same doctors – only more complicated.  You will change that. This role puts you in front of the senior marketers who set brand strategy in Spain and asks you to rebuild how they reach physicians — using technology, data and M3’s HCP platforms instead of sheer field effort. M3 affiliates have developed a more complex and integrated service portfolio which required and in depth market knowlegde together with a developed commercial sese It is a rare combination: consulting-grade problem solving, a national market as your canvas, and a direct line to the Managing Directors who own the P&L.

The mission

Advance pharmaceutical marketing in Spain from labour-intensive, headcount-driven field tactics to modern, technology- and data-led engagement — and build the commercial engine that makes that shift pay.

You will operate at the intersection of consultative client strategy, product growth and new business development. You will diagnose what pharma brand teams are really trying to solve, design the digital answer, sell it, and then help build the services that do not exist yet. Autonomy is high and the work is visible: what you win shows up directly in the revenue of M3’s Spanish businesses.

What you will do

• Lead the shift from headcount to technology. Own the mission of moving Spanish pharmaceutical marketing beyond labour-intensive, boots-on-the-ground field tactics towards modern marketing powered by technology and data. You will set the argument, prove it commercially with clients, and turn it into a repeatable way of working across accounts.
• Take the vision to senior marketers and win them over. Build genuine partnerships with brand managers, business unit heads and digital leads across pharmaceutical accounts in Spain. Share the vision with senior marketers, then pitch new technology- and data-driven marketing strategies for their brands — bespoke, evidence-led and built around each brand’s commercial reality.
• Turn prescribing insight into communication plans. Develop a deep, first-hand understanding of how Spanish doctors make prescribing decisions — the moments, influences and information that actually move a choice. Translate that insight into communication plans and structured, high-impact campaigns on M3 platforms that you propose to clients yourself.
• Partner with M3 group MDs and drive revenue. Work side by side with the Managing Directors of M3 group companies to shape the commercial and sales approach and to lead new service development. You will define value propositions, package new product features into clear commercial offerings with pricing frameworks, ROI stories and positioning, and contribute directly to revenue growth across those companies.
• Open up business beyond pharma promotion. Explore and initiate new business opportunities that go beyond pharmaceutical promotion, built on M3’s Spanish physician-member asset — for example market research services, specialised medical recruitment or targeted educational initiatives. You will run the “0-to-1” work: test demand, secure pilot clients, define the go-to-market, and launch the service line.
• Feed the product engine. Drive commercial strategy and the creation of new products based on what clients need, and bring structured feedback from pharma brand leaders back into internal product development priorities so the roadmap reflects the market.
• Help build the team behind the growth. Identify talent needs and support recruitment as new business initiatives scale.

Qualifications

What you will bring

• Pharma ecosystem exposure. 3–4 years in B2B commercial roles serving pharmaceutical clients, with enough fluency in the commercial language of brand teams to be credible in the room from day one.
• Consultative capability over quota history. A proven track record of strategic solution provision and of creating bespoke solutions for clients. Prior sales experience is not required; the ability to structure a client’s problem, form a hypothesis and design the answer is.
• Structured problem solving. Hypothesis-driven analysis, comfort turning messy commercial questions into a clear diagnosis, and the judgement to know which insight actually matters to a brand’s numbers.
• Commercial mindset and execution. Strong ability to run client discovery and build value-based proposals — carrying an idea from first conversation to signed work.
• Appetite for ambiguity and for building. You are drawn to work that has no template yet, and you would rather create the first version of something than optimise the tenth.
• Languages. Native or fluent Spanish with full professional English proficiency.

Preferred

• Experience in life sciences consulting or other relevant professional services.
