The Competence Centre for Molecular Biology (CCMB) is looking for a talented molecular biology/biotechnology researcher, to be a part of a dynamic team environment. The selected candidate will work on several molecular biology techniques, particularly focusing on food safety and food authenticity.

Job duties

• Conduct and design laboratory experiments and activities defined for projects development, including performing complex methodologies
• Actively participate in experimental results compilation
• Regularly report all experimental results and projects development to the R&D Manager
• Support general lab activities (stock management, routine maintenance, record keeping, etc)
• Work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment

Qualificações

Minimum qualifications

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related areas (MSc will be considered depending on experience)
• One year of relevant experience in a molecular biology laboratory environment, ideally in food testing

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with DNA/RNA extraction, ELISA, electrophoresis, PCR, qPCR, digital PCR, NGS (Illumina & ONT)
• Familiarity with setup and design of molecular biology assays, including primer design.
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills
• Experience with bioinformatics analysis (especially in the context of NGS)
• Fluency in English – spoken and written
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office apps
• Solid organizational skills and sense of responsibility
• Proactivity and problem-solving skills
