You combine platform engineering, cloud security leadership, and multi-cloud connectivity across AWS, GCP, and legacy systems to turn infrastructure into a self-service product for development teams.
You thrive in environments where immutability, automation, and continuous improvement are highly valued. You are a hands-on technical leader who enjoys mentoring others and transferring knowledge, helping the team reach zero manual deployments and 100% of its infrastructure as code.
- Note: This position is offered under a 3-month assignment (with the possibility of extension) and follows a hybrid model, with 3 to 4 days per week on-site and 1 to 2 days remote, Monday through Friday.
You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:
- Bachelorβs Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, platform engineering, and cloud environments.
- Advanced expertise designing complex, reusable Terraform modules and enforcing an immutable, everything-as-code infrastructure strategy.
- Advanced experience building multi-environment GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including deployment orchestration and pipeline security.
- Advanced knowledge of GCP cloud-native architecture as the primary platform.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and hybrid connectivity across multi-cloud environments and legacy systems.
- Advanced experience implementing Binary Authorization and network policies to secure cloud ecosystems.
- Advanced experience developing Kubernetes operators and controllers to automate complex operational tasks.
- Working knowledge of FinOps practices, including quotas and cost alerts for cloud billing control.
- Proven technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge transfer skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Working knowledge of English is required; Spanish will be the primary language of communication within the project.
- HashiCorp Terraform Professional, GitLab Certified CI/CD, and Google Professional Cloud Architect certifications are desired.
You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:
- Define Golden Paths that enable self-service deployments for development teams.
- Guarantee infrastructure immutability, ensuring no production changes happen outside of Terraform.
- Build and evolve CI/CD workflows that move the team toward zero manual deployments.
- Lead the security of the cloud ecosystem by integrating security controls into the delivery workflow.
- Implement Binary Authorization and network policies to protect the cloud ecosystem.
- Design secure multi-cloud and hybrid connectivity between AWS, GCP, and legacy systems.
- Apply proactive FinOps practices through quotas and cost alerts.
- Develop Kubernetes operators and controllers that automate complex tasks.
- Transfer knowledge to the team through pair programming sessions.
