This permanent, full-time opportunity combines hands-on veterinary practice with the chance to influence clinical standards, develop your people and guide the long-term direction of a well-established Toowoomba clinic. You’ll have the support of your Practice Manager and regional leadership team, alongside a national network of veterinary colleagues.

Our modern, purpose-designed clinic brings together four experienced veterinarians, seven veterinary nurses and a nursing intern. It’s a team that shares knowledge, values each other’s contribution and takes pride in doing right by its patients.

Our nurses are encouraged to be proactive patient advocates and contribute meaningfully to care. For our Veterinary Director, that means working alongside capable colleagues who bring initiative, insight and commitment to the day.

We also have an exotics veterinarian on the team, adding another dimension to our clinical expertise and opportunities to learn from interesting and unusual cases.

With multiple consultation rooms and advanced diagnostic equipment, Chandlers provides an established setting in which to practise, collaborate and lead.

Your next chapter in clinical leadership

You’ll stay connected to the work you love through consultations and surgery, while taking a broader role in how the clinic develops.

In this role, you’ll:

• Shape clinical care: Lead evidence-based practice, encourage case discussion and help the team continually strengthen its approach to patient care.
• Develop your people: Mentor experienced colleagues, support individual interests and create opportunities for the team to keep learning.
• Build on a positive culture: Foster open communication, thoughtful decision-making and a workplace where people feel comfortable asking questions and sharing ideas.
• Help steer the clinic’s future: Partner with the Practice Manager on priorities, workflow and sustainable clinic performance.
• Strengthen client relationships: Build on the trust Chandlers has earned through clear communication, continuity of care and compassionate advice.

What you’ll bring

You’re an experienced veterinarian with sound clinical judgement, confidence in general practice medicine and surgery, and an interest in helping others do their best work.

You understand that good leadership involves listening, setting clear expectations and following through. You’re comfortable making decisions, open to different perspectives and keen to balance excellent patient care with a thriving practice.

You’ll also bring:

• A BVSc, DVM or equivalent qualification registrable in Queensland.
• Previous clinical leadership experience, or the readiness to take your first formal leadership step.
• A collaborative approach to mentoring, problem-solving and clinical development.
• An interest in the decisions that support a successful clinic, from team development to client experience.
