Greencross Vets is seeking an experienced Locum Veterinary Nurse to provide casual support across our Gold Coast clinic network.

We're looking for someone who can confidently walk into a clinic, quickly adapt to the team and workflow, and provide reliable support with minimal direction or supervision.

About the Role

As a Casual Locum Veterinary Nurse, you'll provide support across multiple Greencross clinics on the Gold Coast to assist with:

• Annual leave coverage
• Personal leave coverage
• Recruitment gaps
• Busy periods and increased caseloads
• Additional roster support when required

This role offers a high level of variety, exposure to different teams and caseloads, and the opportunity to utilise your nursing skills across a network of well-equipped clinics.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Assisting veterinarians during consultations, treatments, and procedures
• Surgical preparation and theatre assistance
• Monitoring anaesthesia and supporting patient recovery
• Medical nursing and hospital patient care
• Collecting pathology samples and performing diagnostic testing
• Administration of medications and treatments
• Dental nursing and radiography
• Emergency and urgent care nursing support
• Nurse consulting and assisting with patient workups
• Supporting reception and client service when required
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene and infection control
• Contributing positively to clinic workflow and team culture

About You

We're looking for a confident and adaptable nurse who:

• Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent 
• Has a minimum of 3+ years of clinical veterinary nursing experience post-qualification
• Can confidently work with minimal supervision
• Has strong surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring skills
• Is experienced across both medical and surgical nursing
• Is comfortable adapting to new teams and clinic environments
• Demonstrates excellent animal handling abilities
• Has strong communication and client care skills
• Is organised, proactive, and solutions-focused
• Enjoys supporting teams and helping clinics succeed

Experience with veterinary practice management systems such as RxWorks and SmartFlow will be highly regarded.
